We’ve got your back.
Answers to the common questions — and a human when you need one.
The agents say “offline”
The AI agents run on your own Anthropic key (BYOK). Open Settings in the app, paste a key from console.anthropic.com, and the agent pill turns active. Everything else works without a key.
A source returns no results
Widen the date window or drop a filter — a narrow specialty + design + free-full-text combo can legitimately be empty. If one database is down, the others keep working; Salura retries with backoff automatically.
Where is my data stored?
Local Mode: in your browser only (export a JSON backup from Settings). With an account: synced to your Supabase backend, protected by row-level security.
I cleared my browser and lost work
Local Mode lives in browser storage — restore from your JSON backup (Settings → Backup → Import). For automatic cross-device protection, enable cloud sync.
Is the novelty verdict definitive?
No — it’s a fast lexical sweep across the live databases to catch obvious overlap before you commit months. Treat “Likely novel” as a green light for a librarian-grade search, not a substitute for one.
Can I trust the AI’s citations?
Agents are restricted to records retrieved live in your session and instructed to say so when evidence is thin. Even so: verify before relying — the AI panels remind you, by design.
Which model should I pick?
Claude Opus 4.8 (default) for the strongest reasoning, Sonnet 4.6 for fast balanced work, Haiku 4.5 for the lightest cost. Change anytime in Settings.
How do I install Salura as an app?
Serve it over HTTPS (or use the hosted version) and your browser will offer “Install Salura” — a PWA with an offline shell. The feed needs a connection; your work doesn’t.
