Terms & Policies.
The short version: your research is yours, the AI never invents evidence on purpose, and Salura is a companion — not a clinician, lawyer, or replacement for peer review.

1 · Terms of Service
Acceptance. By using Salura (the app, website or related services) you agree to these terms. If you use Salura on behalf of an institution, you confirm you may bind that institution.
The service. Salura provides research-workflow tooling: retrieval from third-party scholarly databases, deterministic analysis tools, and optional AI assistance powered by your own API key. Early-access software changes fast; features may evolve and availability is not guaranteed.
Your content. Projects, manuscripts, libraries and notes are yours. You grant us only the technical license needed to store and sync them when you enable cloud features. We claim no rights over your research and never use it to train models.
Acceptable use. Don’t abuse the third-party databases (their terms apply), attempt to breach other users’ data, or use Salura to produce fraudulent research. Fabricating data or plagiarism remains your responsibility — tooling is not an alibi.
Third-party services. PubMed/NCBI, Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov, OpenAlex, Crossref, Semantic Scholar, Anthropic, Supabase and Vercel each have their own terms; your use of those services through Salura is governed by them as well.
Liability. Salura is provided “as is”, without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including research decisions made with the software. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
2 · Privacy Policy
Local Mode (default). Your data lives in your browser’s storage. It is not transmitted to us. Live searches go directly from your browser to the scholarly databases above.
AI requests — two lanes. Bring-your-own-key (BYOK): if you add your own Anthropic key in Settings, your prompt and project context go directly from your browser to Anthropic with your key — Salura’s servers never receive, proxy or log them. Managed credits (default when you have no key): your prompt and project context are sent to Salura’s server, which calls the model on your behalf through the Vercel AI Gateway and meters the action in credits. In this lane the server necessarily processes your request and records metadata about each run — which agent, the model, token counts, timestamp and success/failure — for billing and reliability. It does not store the text of your prompt or the AI’s response. Either way, your content is never used to train models.
Cloud sync (optional). If you sign in, your account email and synced workspace data are stored in the configured Supabase backend, isolated per user with row-level security, encrypted in transit. You can export and delete everything at any time.
What we don’t do. No advertising, no trackers, no sale of data, no training on your content, no profiling.
Your rights. Access, export, correction, deletion — built into the product (Settings → Backup; account deletion removes synced rows). For anything else: privacy@saluraai.com.
3 · Medical & Research Disclaimer
Salura supports research workflows. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations, and must not be used for clinical decision-making about individual patients. Statistical outputs are standard approximations whose assumptions you must verify — consult a statistician for pivotal studies. Ethics approval, consent and reporting integrity remain entirely the researcher’s responsibility.
4 · AI Transparency Statement
- Every AI-generated panel is visibly labeled AI with a verification reminder.
- Agents are instructed to cite only records retrieved live from verified databases in your session, and to state when evidence is insufficient — never to fabricate citations, statistics or findings.
- Language models can still be wrong, biased or incomplete. AI output is a draft for your judgment, not a source. Final responsibility for any manuscript rests with its human authors.
- With your own key you pay Anthropic directly and choose the model; on managed credits Salura funds the provider and routes each task to an appropriate model (shown before you spend). Either way the cost is shown up front — no hidden AI processing.
